It’s 5 o’clock somewhere…

I have been checking out the csn website compulsively to find a double stroller, don’t tell my husband he sees no need for a double stroller. But we have two kids, and one of them will want to ride in the stroller when he sees his little brother in it… I also think we need a new dining room table, which my husband will definitely not be on board about. But the one we bought a couple years ago is worked, and it is not big enough for a big thanksgiving gathering…

I had a stressful Sunday today, I popped open a beer at 1pm. I thought it’s 5 o’clock somewhere, and held my drink up high and said cheers to myself. Learning how to juggle two kids is no walk in the park. Every now and then you need to call your mom and resort to drinking.  But not enough that you can’t take care of the kids. I only had one beer and I felt better. Then I moved on to a whole bag of candy corn. So that was fun and filling.. :) That reminds me wouldn’t it be great if they came out with a candy corn flavored beer? I want one…

Sunday’s are supposed to be fun-day’s! So I shop online, eat large amounts of candy corn and say cheers to myself. If I had more sleep I would probably be able to write something a little bit more intelligent! But for now I will bid adieu.

Cheers -

Jewelry With A Modern Twist

Today the fed ex man dropped off a sweet little package from one of my most favorite people -Lori Epner of CLEEO COLLECTION. She crafted a custom bracelet from her knaughty collection for me that she hand crocheted using nylon string from Germany with silver seed beads, with a sterling silver J & V for my boys! It’s so beautiful!

Here is a little info on her cute company and how it all started!

Inspired by many aspects of my life; fashion, photography, my family & friends, a love of vintage and classic glamour, an obsession for jewelry and all things sparkling…“C” represents Cece (my great aunt), “LEE” are my initials and “O” is the emotional reaction of a woman, responding to something she adores, upon seeing it for the first time.

This summer 2010 “Knaughty” Collection was inspired by all the fun, balmy summer nights of the past- growing up in FL, the weather was always warm…
Some of my best friends through high school and college and even currently have shared many laughs, gossiping about moment’s from summers past.

The name Knaughty is a play on words with knot and naughty- each bracelet reminded me of a special friend and a particular funny moment I had shared with them.  I still have many girlfriends clamoring for a namesake bracelet!

Each one has something unique about it- some have sterling silver, rose gold or gold vermeil charms. I made an initial bracelet for a friend as a baby gift and then all the mom’s requested one with their children’s initials on them.  It’s a cute keepsake and something you can wear everyday. On this particular style I let them (the moms) pick their color cord and beads- all initials are sterling silver in 2 sizes and all the findings; clasp, crimps and CLEEO tag are also sterling silver.
The Knaughty Cleeo initial bracelet (1-2 initials) is $70.  I love mixing it with some of the CLEEO stretchy bracelets or even another Knaughty style for some “bling”!
But I tell all my clients- it’s really up to you to decide how to layer and mix it with your own jewelry- just know that “more is always more” with jewelry!

Check out her store and her site to see more of her fabulous creations, hurry they are going fast!

Recall on Similac Formula

I am completley horrified that we gave our newborn son 3 bottles of this formula that had been recalled. It was bad enough we had to give him formula in the first few days of his life. Now he is on breast milk only but we had a few days where it was too hard and milk was not abundant! Certain Similac-brand, powder infant formulas are being voluntarily recalled following an internal quality review, which detected the remote possibility of the presence of a small common beetle in the product. The United States Food and Drug Adminstration (FDA) has determined that while the formula containing these beetles poses no immediate health risk, there is a possibility that infants who consume formula containing the beetles or their larvae, could experience symptoms of gastrointestinal discomfort and refusal to eat as a result of small insect parts irritating the GI tract. If these symptoms persist for more than a few days, a physician should be consulted. The recall includes certain Similac powder product lines offered in plastic containers and certain Similac powder product lines offered in 8-ounce, 12.4-ounce, and 12.9-ounce cans. To find out if a Similac product you own is included in this recall, visit similac.com/recall/lookup and type in the lot number, or call (800) 986-8850. Both the website and the consumer hotline have specific details on how to complete the return process.

Welcome Jet!

So much has happened since I last updated the blog on personal stuff!

We added a new addition to our family. Jet Young!

He arrived on 8.21.10 @ 6:15 pm.

7lbs 9 oz

I had a natural water birth and I have to say it went smoother than I thought. This is what the tub looked like! The warm waters made my contractions a lot less painful. But I am by no means saying this was easy. But it made things calmer. I envisioned the baby moving down and stayed calm until the very end….. to be continued….Van is excited to have a little brother. I am happy to have him out of my body and Jet is getting adjusted to being awake during the day in small doses!

He is truly such a blessing to our lives and we will protect and care for him the best way we can!

Baby stuff, Bedroom Vanitys, birthdays and more!!!

I haven’t had my coffee this morning, but I know what I want to write about. Our baby boy is due in less than 4 weeks and I am finally in major nesting mode. My thoughts are consumed with finishing the nursery, packing the hospital bag, washing everything 5 times, and making sure everything is assembled and put together!

A few weeks back I did a post on Van’s room and how we were transforming it into a little boys room, so we could use most of his furniture for the new baby’s room. I ended up picking out a duvet set by boodalee for Van, and he has transitioned into his big boy bed beautifully! Apparently nesting comes with spending money! Since I am really the only one with a sense of urgency that we are having another baby in less than a month and still  have a ton of things to purchase, I am getting nervous…. The first baby everyone was excited and it was fun, the second one I guess everyone just thinks you have it all handled..

Amidst all of the crazyness I did manage to find something I can make room for. We had our bathroom redone a few months ago and now we have a fabulous space for doing bathroom things, however I need a little place just for me to sit and work on myself. A place to put my hair accessories, make-up and fun jewels. I never thought I would want a bedroom vanity, but this is one I could love!

I will post some photos of the completed nursery once we get the bookshelf and the much needed rug in there!

xoxox Blessings….

Six Years.. Hooray

Six Years ago I married this guy!

We made all of these crazy promises like to be each others faithful partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, in joy as well as sorrow. We promised to love each other unconditionally, to support each other in our goals, to honor and respect, to laugh with and to cry with.

3 years later we added this little wonder to our lives, and our hearts grew bigger and bigger – that we thought they might spill over. We learned to make huge sacrifices. It wasn’t easy for either of us, because we are both stubborn and selfish sometimes! But I am loving you faithfully through good times and bad, regardless of the obstacles we may face together.

We have another sweet miracle on his was in 4 months from today. I look forward to this new journey and I think we have come a long way baby…

I gave you my hand, my heart, and my love, and I cherish you til the end!

Modern Nursery Desgin Take 2…

This is Van’s room before the bed switch! He’s getting a big bed, and crib/ toddler bed is being reassembled in the new nursery for bambino #2. Check back later for the photos of his new room! Below are just some nursery’s that inspire me and get me motivated to decorate the new room!

So I am finally starting to freak out that we have another baby on the way, I am 6 months pregnant and haven’t really done a thing yet for his room! Yes I said his.. We are adding another one of those humans that come from another planet than I do to this household. I suddenly found myself worrying about making his room special like I did for Van. I want him to have his own identity, not just be the son who got all of the hand me downs and the stained clothes, and beat up toys. I want him to feel special..
So on my hunt for fresh crisp new little linens for my sweet baby boy to rest his head on, I stumbled upon this great site that sells cribs and the best little crib and toddler sheets you ever laid your eyes on! So I am just not sure what to get new sheets for the bed Van is going to move into, or new crib bedding to make the new baby feel oh so special! Anyways.. I will post more on this once I actually place my order and let you see some photos of Van’s newly decorated room!

More later…
